Fall of Reigna Angelium's Daughter

It was morning and Seraphina felt odd. Skye had been more than gentle with her but a dull pain had developed within her heart. She dismissed it as nerves.
. . . . . . .
She had gotten up. The pain had grown and grown. What is happening to me? Her breathing became short. Before she knew it the pain erupted into an unbearable roar. She fell screaming to her knees. Skye was next to her within the instant.
She clutched her chest in a pathetic attempt to stop the pain. It lasted what seemed like days then. . . she knew why.
She felt as her light began to flickr like some candle exposed to the wind. No. . . no! She was falling. . . She looked at Skye, his face full of concern turned into understanding as if her expression of fear and panic told him what was happening to her.
Another agonizing scream left Seraphina. The ground had begun to shake around her, light fixtures flickered until each light bulb burst sending small crystals of glass to rain around them. Her once golden eyes that had shone with her angelic light changed to a dim glow of crimson red.
Between her gasped breaths she couldn't help to scream at Skye. He had promised her that she wouldn't fall. He had promised nothing would happen. Oh! How naive she was!
She shied away from any movements that came from him. A certain desperation appear in his voice as he plead with her to tell him what he could do.
But it was too late.
The darkness had begun to make its way within her heart, her very soul.
"No!" She screamed over and over. She shook her head as if doing so would make the process stop.
Then, all at once it stopped. She collapsed exhausted onto the floor. Soft sobs escaping her. She no longer felt her light. She felt a disturbing new power within her. One she used to defend against; she battled this power in many countless wars and now here it lay. . .  the darkness had consumed her. She was now a fallen, no longer an angel from heaven.
